TURCK 12-18 mm Barrel Style Inductive Proximity Sensors
Designed for Wear-Free and Non-Contact Detection of Metal Objects
TURCK is a worldwide leader in the fast growing field of proximity sensors. Their high quality product line is the broadest in the industry, offering solutions to millions of automation and standard control applications.

Barrel style inductive proximity sensors with 12-18 mm options are designed for wear-free and non-contact detection of metal objects. They operate with high frequency electro-magnetic AC fields which interact with the target. With inductive sensors, this field is generated by an LC-resonance circuit with a ferrite coil. Uprox? inductive sensors operate on a new detection principle. In addition, due to their ferrite-less multi-coil construction, they incorporate features which provide them with significant advantages for a wide range of applications compared to conventional sensors.

TURCK inductive proximity sensors are manufactured with shielded coil, designated by “BI” in the part number, and a non-shielded coil, designated by “NI” in the part number. Embedded (shielded) units may be safely flush-mounted in metal. Non-embeddable (non-shielded) units require a metal free area around the sensing face. Because of possible interference of the electromagnetic fields generated by the oscillators, minimum spacing is required between adjacent or opposing sensors.
